What is GST?
Goods and services tax means a tax on supply of goods or services, or both, except taxes on supply of alcoholic liquor for human consumption (Article 366 (12A) of Constitution of India).
GST is a value added tax levy on sale or service or both.
GST is a destination based consumption tax.

GST Registration:
Registration is the most fundamental requirement for identification of taxpayers ensuring tax compliance. Without registration, a person can neither collect tax from his customers nor claim any input tax credit of tax paid by him. Registration of any business entity under the GST Law implies obtaining a unique number from the concerned tax authorities for the purpose of collecting tax on behalf of the government and to avail input tax credit for the taxes on his inward supplies.
Advantage of Registration:
He is legally recognised as supplier of goods or services or both.
He is legally authorised to collect taxes from his customers and pass on the credit of the taxes paid on the goods or services supplied to the purchasers/recipients.
He can claim Input Tax Credit of taxes paid and can utilise the same for payment of taxes due on supply of goods or services.
Seamless flow of Input Tax Credit from suppliers to recipients at the national level.
Registered person is eligible to apply for Government bids or contracts or assignments.
Registered person under GST can easily gain trust from customers
Procedure for Registration:
Every person who is liable to be registered shall apply for registration within 30 days from the date on which he becomes liable to registration. Following documents are required to get registration under FORM GST REG-01:
Pan Card
Email Id
Aadhar Card
Mobile number (registered with aadhaar card will be preferable)
Passport size photo
Proof of business premises(IF rented, lease agreement will be required OR if business is running on his own property then electricity bill/ legal ownership document/ municipal khata copy/property tax receipt ,any of one will be required)
Copy of the resolution which is passed by BoD/ Managing Committee and acceptance letter or letter of approval(if available)
